Kwiri is the first solo album of the renowned Mozambican musician, Roberto Chitsondzo.
The book-album KWIRI portrays the musician’s childhood in Xai-Xai, his journey through education as a physical education teacher, his first musical appearance, and his joining of Ghorowane. It also delves into his political activism, his 20-year tenure in the Assembly of the Republic, and the conception of “Kwiri”.
The work features testimonials and unpublished texts from family members, friends, politicians, writers, and musicians. However, this project does not depart from the band Ghorowane, and Roberto Chitsondzo remains a member of that family. He emphasized that with “Kwiri,” he intends to engage in an intimate dialogue with his audience.
Roberto Chitsondzo was born on August 9, 1961, in João Belo, now the city of Xai-Xai, Gaza Province. He holds a degree in Education Management.
